Job summary

Senior Lifestyle seeks caregivers to support residents in Gorham, ME. The role covers evening shifts (2:30PM–11PM), 32 hours per week, with weekend requirements.

Responsibilities include assisting with daily living activities and providing emotional support while maintaining resident dignity and confidentiality. Qualified candidates have at least 1 year in senior care, English proficiency for communication and emergencies, and basic computer skills.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience in senior care.
• Proficient English to perform duties and emergency communications.
• Cope with high-stress situations in a supportive, team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, grooming, dressing, and reminders.
• Provide emotional and social support to residents.
• Document daily logs of assistance and report concerns to supervisor.
• Follow resident schedules and respect confidentiality and independence.
• Support safe, compassionate care and teamwork.

Job description

• Evening shift (2:30PM to 11PM), 32 hours/week, and weekends required.
• Provide assistance as needed with medication reminders, bathing, grooming, dressing, escort service, and other activities of daily living.
• Follow the schedule of resident’s needs set out by supervisor.
• Provide emotional and social support to residents.
• Document daily log of assistance.
• Inform supervisor of any resident issues or concerns.
• Respect and encourage the independence and dignity of the residents.
• Respect residents’ confidentiality.

Qualifications

• You have at least one year of experience working in senior care.
• Acceptable proficiency in English to perform job duties, communicate with supervisor and other employees, and respond and communicate to emergency situations.
• You may need to have a CNA or CHHA license depending on the state.
• You have basic computer skills.
• You are compassionate, professional, kind, engaging, empathetic and helpful.
• You have the ability to work as a part of a team and handle multiple tasks safely and efficiently.
• You possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
• You have the ability to solve practical problems and deal with variables in high stress situations.
• You can maintain a positive and friendly demeanor toward the residents and your co-workers.
