Job summary

Central Bedfordshire Council’s Allison House Residential Home in Sandy is seeking a Care Assistant to deliver person-centred care to residents with dignity and respect. You will assist with washing, personal hygiene, meals and mobility support, and help with medications as required, while recording changes accurately.

You’ll work as part of a friendly team, providing a safe, welcoming environment that promotes independence.

• Assist residents with washing and personal hygiene
• Prepare drinks and snacks for residents
• Administer medication if necessary as directed
• Respect each resident's individuality and support independence
• Work night shifts and weekends with enhanced pay when applicable
• Keep accurate records of care provided and changes in residents' condition

Job description

Team: Allison House Residential Home

Job Family: Supporting - CBG4

Salary: £26,427 per annum pro rota (plus weekend and night enhancements)

Hourly Rate: £13.70 plus weekend and night enhancements

Hours: Varied hours per week - as required by the service

Location: Fixed - Allison House Residential Home, Sandy

Contract Type: Permanent

About the role:

Join us as a Care Assistant to delivery person centred care to each our residents that is as individual as they are. If so we would love you to join our family at Allison House in Sandy.
This is an important role - and you'll receive our full support including a full training programme and induction. Our Care Assistants main priority is to ensure our resident's happiness and wellbeing. You will be assisting our residents with washing and personal hygiene, prepare drinks and snacks, and administer medication if necessary. The key is to consider each person's physical and emotional needs. Every resident is different and you must respect their individuality.

It's all about creating a friendly, supportive environment - one where people are independent and free to make their own choices.

We are interested in people who caring comes naturally to and put the needs of our residents first. It's important you can work as part of a team and keep accurate records. Above all, you must be people-focused and enjoy working with our residents.

Our Care Assistants also work night shifts , these come with key responsibilities; you'll be expected to stay awake and secure and lock the building. There is also enhanced pay for working weekends and nights.
