Job summary

Harmony Senior Services seeks a caring Resident Assistant/Personal Care Aide to provide assistance with activities of daily living and to support residents in a dignified, safe environment.

You will perform housekeeping, respond to calls, assist with meals and activities, and help with transfer and mobility tasks while maintaining strict confidentiality and teamwork with the nursing staff.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
• Must have completed an approved personal care aide program per state regulations.
• Effective verbal and written communication is required.
• Must be organized and able to collaborate with all levels of personnel.
• Contribute to nursing team and follow supervisor instructions.
• Present a polite and considerate demeanor to residents, visitors, and coworkers.
• Must be able to walk and stand for extended periods.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs and push or carry 25 lbs.
• Must safely lift and transfer residents with proper body mechanics.
• Uniforms must be worn during working hours, including name badge.
• CPR/First Aid certification required or achievable within 60 days of hire.
• Represent the community positively and professionally.
• Attend and complete all required in-services and staff meetings.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality care and assistance with activities of daily living.
• Perform housekeeping tasks in resident areas as directed.
• Respond promptly to resident calls for assistance or emergencies.
• Assist in planning and conducting activity programs for residents.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident information.
• Assist residents with move-in transition and provide emotional support.
• Communicate resident status, appointments, admissions, and transfers in writing and verbally.
• Assist new residents with move-in transition and orientation.
• Other duties as assigned.
