Job summary

UNC Health Care seeks a Cardiovascular Sonographer to image the heart and vascular structures, perform pre/post-procedure patient care, and assist with room setup and data management. This on-site role supports inpatient cardiology services.

Certification in ARDMS/CCI preferred; registry eligibility required within one year. Per diem schedule with day shifts and standard hours will apply.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Sonography, Radiology or related field within 3 months of hire, OR completion of a twelve (12) month ultrasound program within 3 months of hire.
• Registered by ARDMS/CCI or registry eligible and register within 1 year from date of hire.
• No prior experience required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver pre- and post-procedure patient care, including monitoring and CPR when needed.
• Ensure daily calibration and maintenance of equipment and document QA monitoring.
• Generate ultrasound images of heart and vascular structures.
• May provide staff training and education.
• Monitor and record patient information, manage data storage and reporting.
• Prepare procedure room and equipment for daily use and between procedures.
