Job summary

The Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgeon at the VA North Texas Health Care System in Dallas, TX provides comprehensive cardiovascular and thoracic surgery care in inpatient and outpatient settings, supervises residents, and educates medical students. This full-time physician role requires an MD/DO, an unrestricted US license, completion of an accredited residency in cardiothoracic surgery, and board eligibility.

English proficiency and multidisciplinary teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• MD or DO licensed in the United States with eligibility for board certification.
• English language proficiency in spoken and written form.
• Fellowship/Residency in Cardiac and/or Thoracic surgery completed.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive cardiovascular and thoracic surgical care in inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Educate residents and supervise medical students in clinical settings.
• Review policies and ensure compliance with VA and accreditation standards.
• Perform surgeries including CABG, valve procedures, and thoracic operations per scope.
