Position Summary: Assist physicians in performing invasive procedures, coordinate care, and provide patient care. Contribute to team performance as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Education: Graduate of an approved AMA School of Radiologic Technology required; AA degree preferred.
Work Experience: No direct cardiology experience required.
Required Licensure, Certification: Licensed by the Maryland Board of Physicians Quality Assurance as a Radiology Technologist; registered with ARRT. BLS/ACLS certification required within 1 year of orientation. Advanced certifications and specific registries are encouraged depending on the level.
Knowledge/Skills: Knowledge of anatomy and physiology related to Diagnostic/Interventional Cardiology and Electrophysiology; proficiency in correlating radiographic and hemodynamic findings; ability to interpret ECGs and intracardiac signals for electrophysiology roles; familiarity with supplies and imaging modalities used in procedures.
CVRT I Orientation Includes: Operation of radiographic and ancillary equipment; knowledge of guidewires, catheters, and ablation systems; training in imaging techniques for cardiac procedures; development of team leadership and patient flow management skills; effective communication skills.
CVRT II Responsibilities: Operate all relevant equipment independently; extensive knowledge of procedural tools; utilize imaging for interventions; lead teams and oversee patient flow; maintain effective communication; basic PC skills required.
