Job summary

Sarasota Memorial Health Care System seeks a Cardiovascular Technologist for the Cardiac Cath Lab in Florida. You will perform invasive cardiovascular procedures under a Cardiologist or Electrophysiologist, with independent judgment and a focus on patient care and service.

Required: AS or higher in Health Science or related program, Florida licensure, BLS/ACLS within 90 days, and RCIS/RCES or cross-credential within 12 months. Prior cath lab experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Two years of interventional cardiac cath and/or electrophysiology lab experience.
• Graduation from an accredited Health Science program (AS or higher).
• RCIS/RCES certification or related cross-credential within 1 year of hire date.
• Current Florida licensure or registration (excluding CVT).
• BLS and ACLS certifications within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform cardiovascular procedures in the Invasive Cardiology Lab under Cardiologist oversight with independent judgment.
• Take call and report to work within 30 minutes of page/call.
• Provide basic patient care and quality customer service; assume responsibility for designated Lab procedures.

Job Summary

Performs cardiovascular procedures in the Invasive Cardiology Department under the supervision of the Cardiologist and/or the Electrophysiologist at a level not requiring constant supervision of the technical detail. Performs a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment. Assumes responsibility for designated Lab and any procedures performed in that Lab as required. Responsible for basic patient care and quality customer service. Cardiovascular Technologist working in the Cardiac Cath Lab must take call as assigned and be able to report to work within thirty (30) minutes of page/call.

Required Qualifications

• Require two (2) years of experience in an Interventional Cardiac Cath and/or Electrophysiology Lab.
• Require graduation from an accredited Health Science program (Associate of Science degree or higher) or graduate of an approved/accredited school or cardiovascular program.
• Require one of the following: - Registered Cardiovascular Technologist (RCIS and/or RCES) OR - Require one of the following within one (1) year of hire date: - Registered Radiologic Technologist (CV, CI, RCIS, and/or RCES), - Registered Respiratory Therapist (RCIS and/or RCES), - Registered Nurse (RCIS and/or RCES)
• Require current licensure or registration in the state of Florida (excluding CVT).
• Require current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications within ninety (90) days of hire date.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prefer intermediate/expert knowledge of hospital computer applications.
• Prefer Structural Heart experience.
