Job summary

Montefiore Medical Center's Pediatric Heart Center is hiring a technically skilled healthcare professional to support clinical operations in the cath lab. The role includes patient intake, clerical tasks, and supervision-assisted performance of hemodynamic and electrophysiology procedures, with ongoing monitoring of vitals and data collection.

The candidate should have or be pursuing RCIS/RC S/IBHRE certification, with a preferred Bachelor's degree and a required high school diploma.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Receives patients at clinic reception area.
• Performs general clerical duties.
• Under supervision, performs chemical analysis on blood samples and blood gases of cardiac catheterization patients.
• Monitors EKG and pressure recordings of patients during procedures.
• Maintains appropriate logs related to procedures.
• Under physician/RN supervision, prepares patients and operates hemodynamic and electrophysiology equipment during procedures.
• Continuously monitors vital signs, EKG, and pressure readings.
• Analyzes inter-cardiac electrogram and reports results.
• Performs direct and indirect patient care.
• Maintains documentation.
• Performs other duties related to daily operation of the cardiac catheterization laboratory.

Part‑time Associates who have completed their probationary period can move to full‑time vacancies within their department provided such movement will not unreasonably reduce the operational efficiency of that department. Probationary period is three (3) months for full‑time employees, and four (4) months for part‑time employees who works more than 3/5 of the normal workweek.

• Analyses inter‑cardiac electrogram and reports results.
• Performs direct and indirect patient care.
• Maintains appropriate documentation.
• Performs other duties as related to the daily operation of the cardiac catheterization laboratory.

Qualifications

• RCIS (registered cardiovascular invasive specialist) and / or RCS (registered cardiac electrophysiology specialist) and/or IBHRE (international board of heart rhythm examiners) certification preferred at hire or within 2 years of employment.
• Licensed Clinical laboratory technologist preferred.
• Education Bachelor's degree preferred.
• High School Diploma required.
