Job summary

MedStar Health is seeking a skilled professional to support a multidisciplinary Cath Lab, performing invasive cardiovascular procedures and assisting with EP, interventional, and diagnostic cases. Responsibilities include patient prep, arterial/venous access, hemodynamic monitoring, instrument setup, and post-procedure care across multiple service lines.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor level degree preferred.
• RCIS/RCVT/ARRT or equivalent certification required or ARRT variants.
• 1–2 years in Cardiac Catheterization or Interventional Radiology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs patient care for adults including IV starts and EKG monitoring.
• Assists with invasive procedures: diagnostic cardiac catheterization, ICD/pacemaker, EP/ablation, peripheral/interventional procedures, bronchoscopy, bone marrow harvest.
• Prepares equipment, maintains room readiness, and assists physician during procedures.
• Records hemodynamic data and ensures instrument readiness and room turnover.
• Participates in training for cardiovascular team and assists with inventory and supplies.

About this Job:

General Summary of PositionThe incumbent in this position will work in a multidisciplinary lab working with a variety of service lines. Procedures include: Diagnostic Cardiac catheterization ICD and Pacemaker procedures Electrophysiology and Ablation procedures Diagnostic and Interventional Peripheral procedures Interventional and Diagnostic Bronchoscopy procedures Bone Marrow Harvest procedures. The incumbent in this position will assist with all invasive procedures. These functions are performed in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations and Georgetown University Hospital's philosophy policies procedures and standards.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Performs assorted patient care responsibilities for adults including starting IV's EKG monitoring cardiac outputs and prepping and draping patients.Assists with invasive procedures such as; Diagnostic Cardiac catheterization ICD and Pacemaker procedures Electrophysiology and Ablation procedures Diagnostic and Interventional Peripheral procedures Interventional and Diagnostic Bronchoscopy procedures Bone Marrow Harvest procedures.Performs quality control functions of the X-ray console/equipment before procedures.Assists physician during the procedure. Removes/ pulls arterial and venous sheaths from patient after procedure and apply appropriate manual pressure.Records and interprets hemodynamic data using Mac Lab monitoring system.Prepares all the equipment sets up field for all cases and cleans room for next procedure..Participates in the orientation training and in-services for cardiovascular technologists and other staff in the department.Assists with the inventory managing and stocking of supplies and equipment for the Cath Lab.Exemplifies Guest and Staff Relations standards in all activities.Assumes other duties and responsibilities that are appropriate to the position and area. Current knowledge and techniques in Cath Lab knowledge of cardiology meds EKG monitoring starting IV's must be able to act quickly and remain calm in stressful and emergency situations.This position has a hiring range of : USD $35.68 - USD $64.71 /Hr.
