Job summary

Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, DC area seeks a cardiovascular lab professional to support a multidisciplinary Cath Lab. Responsibilities include assisting with diagnostic cardiac catheterization, ICD/pacemaker procedures, electrophysiology and ablation, and peripheral interventions, along with bronchoscopy and bone marrow harvest.

The role covers patient care, IV placement, EKG monitoring, hemodynamic data interpretation, equipment prep, and room turnover, with emphasis on safety

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree preferred
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • RCIS/RCVT/ARRT or ARRT-CI/ARRT-VI or RCES certification required/BLS/ACLS certifications
  • Knowledge of cath lab procedures and patient monitoring

Responsibilities

  • Performs assorted patient care for adults including starting IVs and EKG monitoring.
  • Assists with invasive procedures: diagnostic cardiac catheterization, ICD and pacemaker procedures, Electrophysiology and Ablation, peripheral, bronchoscopy, and bone marrow harvest.
  • Performs quality control of X-ray equipment and assists physician during procedures.
  • Records and interprets hemodynamic data and prepares equipment sets for cases.
  • Maintains room readiness and inventory; participates in training of staff.

About this Job:

General Summary of PositionThe incumbent in this position will work in a multidisciplinary lab working with a variety of service lines. Procedures include: Diagnostic Cardiac catheterization ICD and Pacemaker procedures Electrophysiology and Ablation procedures Diagnostic and Interventional Peripheral procedures Interventional and Diagnostic Bronchoscopy procedures Bone Marrow Harvest procedures. The incumbent in this position will assist with all invasive procedures. These functions are performed in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations and Georgetown University Hospital's philosophy policies procedures and standards.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Performs assorted patient care responsibilities for adults including starting IV's EKG monitoring cardiac outputs and prepping and draping patients.Assists with invasive procedures such as; Diagnostic Cardiac catheterization ICD and Pacemaker procedures Electrophysiology and Ablation procedures Diagnostic and Interventional Peripheral procedures Interventional and Diagnostic Bronchoscopy procedures Bone Marrow Harvest procedures.Performs quality control functions of the X-ray console/equipment before procedures.Assists physician during the procedure. Removes/ pulls arterial and venous sheaths from patient after procedure and apply appropriate manual pressure.Records and interprets hemodynamic data using Mac Lab monitoring system.Prepares all the equipment sets up field for all cases and cleans room for next procedure..Participates in the orientation training and in-services for cardiovascular technologists and other staff in the department.Assists with the inventory managing and stocking of supplies and equipment for the Cath Lab.Exemplifies Guest and Staff Relations standards in all activities.Assumes other duties and responsibilities that are appropriate to the position and area. RCIS - Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist required orRCVT - Registered Cardiovasc Tec required orARRT ARRT ARRT-CI or ARRT-VI required orRCES - Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist requiredBLS - Basic Life Support American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross requiredACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross requiredKnowledge Skills and Abilities

Current knowledge and techniques in Cath Lab knowledge of cardiology meds EKG monitoring starting IV's must be able to act quickly and remain calm in stressful and emergency situations.This position has a hiring range of : USD $35.68 - USD $64.71 /Hr.
