Job summary

LewisGale Medical Center in Salem, Virginia, is seeking a Cardiovascular Specialist II to join our Cardiac Cath Lab team. You will work with physicians to perform complex cardiac and vascular procedures using state-of-the-art equipment, delivering safe, high-quality care.

The ideal candidate has Allied health background or Cardiac Cath Lab Cardiovascular Specialist I with at least three years’ cath lab experience, plus BLS and ACLS within 180 days.

Qualifications

• Allied health care professional, or Cardiac Cath Lab Cardiovascular Specialist I, with a minimum of three years’ experience in a cath lab setting.
• BLS and ACLS required within 180 days of employment.
• Hours: Full time, day shift, weekdays; call required with 30 minute response time.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians with complex cardiac and vascular procedures (angiograms, angioplasties, stent placements).
• Prepare and support patients and families with care, education, and reassurance before, during, and after procedures.
• Operate and maintain advanced cath lab equipment to deliver safe treatment.
• Monitor patient responses with vigilance to ensure high-quality care.
• Maintain a sterile, safe environment and advocate for every patient.

Job Summary and Qualifications

In this role, you’ll stand alongside physicians and colleagues to deliver advanced care during lifesaving cardiac procedures. Your responsibilities will include:

• Assisting physicians with complex cardiac and vascular procedures, including angiograms, angioplasties, and stent placements
• Preparing and supporting patients and families with care, education, and reassurance before, during, and after procedures
• Operating and maintaining advanced equipment to deliver safe and effective treatment
• Monitoring patient responses with vigilance and compassion to ensure the highest level of care
• Safeguarding a sterile, safe environment while serving as an advocate for every patient

What qualifications you will need:

EXPERIENCE:

Required:

Allied health care professional, or Cardiac Cath Lab Cardiovascular Specialist I, with a minimum of three years’ experience in a cath lab setting.

EDUCATION:

Required:

(BLS) Basic Life Support from the American Red Cross (ARC) or American Heart Association (AHA) and ACLS-required within 180 days of employment.

Hours: Full time, day shift weekdays only. Call is required (30 minute response time)
