Job summary

UNC Health Care in Chapel Hill seeks an experienced cardiovascular sonographer to deliver comprehensive cardiac ultrasound services and vascular studies. You will prepare rooms, assist during procedures, and ensure accurate data entry and reporting for a dynamic inpatient/outpatient population.

The role requires ARDMS/CCI certification or eligibility, an associate degree or 12-month ultrasound program, and at least 1 year of acute hospital experience.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Sonography or Radiology or completion of a 12-month ultrasound program within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide pre/post-procedure patient care including CPR and transport assistance.
• Calibrate and maintain ultrasound equipment; document maintenance and QA.
• Acquire cardiac ultrasound images and perform advanced studies as needed.
• Perform vascular studies and real-time readings in OR for invasive/non-invasive procedures.
• Conduct neonatal/pediatric studies.
• May train staff and serve as a subject-matter expert for Cardiovascular Sonographers.
• Document patient data, charge entry, and retrieve reports from storage systems.
• Prepare rooms and equipment for daily use and between procedures.
• Respond to on-call needs for emergent procedures.
