Job summary

UNC Health in Holly Springs is seeking a cardiovascular ultrasound technologist to perform ultrasound imaging and related patient care focused on heart disease. You will prepare patients, operate imaging equipment, and assist with post‑procedure care, while maintaining equipment and records.

The role requires an associate degree or ultrasound program completion, ARDMS/CCI eligibility with registration within a year, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Sonography, Radiology or a related field within 3 months of hire.
• Completion of a twelve (12) month ultrasound program within 3 months of hire.
• Registered by ARDMS/CCI or registry eligible with registration within 1 year from date of hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates competence in pre‑ and post‑procedure patient care including CPR and potential transport assistance.
• Ensures ultrasound equipment is calibrated and maintained; documents maintenance and QA activities.
• Generates ultrasound images of the heart and vascular structures.
• May provide staff training and education.
• Monitors patient information, enters data for charge entry, and retrieves stored reports.
• Prepares procedure room and equipment for daily use and ensures timely turnover between procedures.
