Job description

Inova Fairfax Medical Campus - Adult Echo Lab is seeking a dedicated Cardiac Sonographer 2 to join our advanced echo imaging center, which emphasizes clinical excellence, education, innovation, and research. Our lab is nationally accredited by the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission and comprises over 22 sonographers and 25 physicians supporting award-winning clinical programs.

Our facility features a fleet of updated Philips machines with advanced 3D and strain imaging technology. We provide regular educational opportunities to enhance your knowledge and skills. Cardiovascular Sonographers also teach cardiology fellows and sonography students. Career development is available through a clinical ladder. This is a full-time day shift position, Monday through Friday. Sign-on bonus and relocation assistance are available.

Lead Responsibilities:

• Effective communication with patients to obtain clinical history and informed consent, aiding in exam performance and interpretation.
• Assist physicians with examinations using standard protocols, precautions, and sterile techniques.
• Onboard, train, mentor, and coach echocardiographers in collaboration with department leaders.
• Recognize and address clinical or emergent issues to ensure optimal exam outcomes and patient satisfaction.

Additional Requirements:

• Certification: RDCS or CCI registered, BLS, RCS for Echo, or RVT/RVS certifications upon start.
• Licensure: None required.
• Experience: Minimum five years in a hospital/healthcare setting performing cardiac or vascular sonography.
• Education: Graduate of an accredited sonography program or equivalent training.
