Job summary

Halifax Health is seeking a Cardiovascular Sonographer for Interventional Cardiology. The role performs adult and pediatric echocardiography, including TTEs and adult Transesophageal studies, across hospital areas. The position includes rotation of call, weekends and holidays with on-call responses within 45 minutes.

Requirements include a two-year Associate’s degree in Cardiovascular Technology and ARDMS or CCI registration or eligibility, with prior non-invasive cardiac ultrasound experience.

Qualifications

• Two-year, Associate’s degree in Cardiovascular Technology.
• Previous one year experience in non-invasive cardiac ultrasound techniques.
• ARDMS or CCI registered or eligible.

Responsibilities

• Perform adult and pediatric echocardiography procedures.
• Analyze cardiac ultrasound tests: TTEs (pediatrics and adults) and adult Transesophageal Echocardiography.
• Respond to emergent/on-call studies; participate in call rotation, weekends and holidays; respond within 45 minutes.

This individual will performadult and pediatric echocardiography procedures. Job responsibilities also include performing and analyzing cardiac ultrasound tests: TTE’s (on pediatrics and adults) and adult Transesophageals on patients in all areas of the hospital. This position includes a rotation of call, weekends and holidays. Echo staff must respond to emergent/on-call studies within 45 minutes.
