Job summary

Inova Fairfax East is seeking a Cardiac Sonographer 3 to join the outpatient Cardiology team. This full-time day shift, Monday–Friday, offers a sign-on bonus and relocation assistance.

You will support imaging exams, ensure patient safety, and collaborate with radiologists and physicians in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate is a graduate of an accredited diagnostic medical sonography program with 3+ years of hospital experience and ARDMS/RCS or equivalent certification, plus BLS.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited diagnostic medical sonography program.
• ARDMS RDCS or CCI RCS certification (Echo) or RVT/RVS vascular certification.
• Three years or more of experience in hospital/healthcare performing cardiac or vascular sonography.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians in a variety of examinations using standard protocols and safe techniques.
• Recognize clinical or emergent problems affecting exams and take action.
• Demonstrate proper technique for IV contrast injections and operate imaging equipment per manufacturer specs.
• Identify errors in EMR/PACS reports and collaborate with leadership to maintain ICAL accreditation.
• Apply echo vascular principles to select appropriate technique and positioning for optimal exams.

Inova Fairfax East is looking for a dedicated Cardiac Sonographer 3 to join the outpatient Cardiology team. This role will be a Full-Time Day Shift: Monday - Friday. Sign-on Bonus & Relocation assistance eligible.

Cardiac Sonographer 3 Job Responsibilities:

• Assists the physician in performing a variety of examinations using standard department protocols, isolation precautions and/or sterile technique, as evidenced by Radiologist's satisfaction.


• Demonstrates the ability to recognize clinical and/or emergent problems that may interfere with exams and takes appropriate action to resolve them and produce the most desirable outcome.


• Demonstrates proper technique for injection of IV contrast, or other test-enhancing solution, under the Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonography Standards. Operates imaging and other related equipment according to manufacturer's specifications.


• Identifies errors and takes immediate action for corrections, as evidenced by the EMR and PACS Systems reports. Assist departmental leadership in obtaining or maintaining ICAL accreditation.


• Demonstrates a thorough understanding of echo vascular principles/theory, anatomy and pathology processes utilizing the most appropriate techniques and/or positioning for optimal examinations.

Cardiac Sonographer 3 Additional Requirements:

• Education: Graduate of an accredited school/program of diagnostic medical sonography


• License: ARDMS Registered with RDCS Certification or CCI Registered with RCS, Certification for Echo, or ARDMS with RVT or CCI with the RVS, Certification for Vascular. Sonography or five years of specialized training in a hospital/healthcare


• Certification: Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association


• Experience: Three years or more of experience in a hospital/healthcare environment in the performance of cardiac or vascular sonography.
