Job summary

Inova Health is seeking a Cardiac Sonographer for the Fairfax Medical Campus Adult Echo Lab. The role supports advanced imaging with Philips equipment, participates in education and clinical ladder, and offers sign-on and relocation incentives.

The lab emphasizes clinical excellence, education, research, and national accreditation. The position is a Full-Time Day Shift (Monday–Friday) with opportunities for career development, ongoing training, and a strong focus on patient care and safety

Qualifications

• BLS certification required on start
• RDMS/ARDMS certification or equivalent within 1 year of hire
• Recent hospital/healthcare sonography experience
• Graduate of an accredited diagnostic medical sonography program or 5 years training in hospital setting

Responsibilities

• Assists physicians in performing a variety of examinations per department protocols
• Obtains clinical history and informs consent from patients to optimize exam performance
• Communicates procedure details to patients to ease anxiety and ensure cooperation
• Recognizes and addresses potential clinical problems impacting examinations

Inova Pediatrics | Cardiac Sonographer 1 | Full-Time Days Shift: Monday - Friday | Sign-on Bonus & Relocation Available

Inova Fairfax Medical Campus - Adult Echo Lab is looking for a dedicated Cardiac Sonographer 2 to join the Inova Fairfax Medical Center Echo Lab is an advanced echo imagining center with a strong emphasis on clinical excellence, education, innovation, and research. Our lab is nationally accredited through the InterSocietal Accreditation Commission and is comprised of over 22 sonographers and 25 physicians who support our award-winning clinical programs and hospital.

The lab has a full fleet of updated Philips machines with advanced 3D and strain imaging technology available and offers regular educational opportunities to assist in developing your knowledge and skill set. Cardiovascular Sonographers also teach cardiology fellows and sonography students. Career development is offered through a clinical ladder. This role will be a Full Time Day Shift, Monday - Friday. Sign-on Bonus & Relocation assistance eligible.

Cardiac Sonographer 1 Job Responsibilities

• Communicates effectively with patients to obtain clinical history/informed consent from patients or patients' charts to assist the physician in optimizing the performance and interpretation of the examination, as evidenced by the exam results.
• Explains procedure to patients/families and answers any questions to ease anxiety while assuring patients cooperation, as evidence by customer satisfaction.
• Assists the physician in performing a variety of examinations using standard department protocols, isolation precautions and/or sterile technique, as evidenced by Radiologist's satisfaction.
• Demonstrates the ability to recognize clinical and/or emergent problems that may interfere with exams and takes appropriate action to resolve them and produce the most desirable outcome, as evidence by exam results and patient satisfaction.

Cardiac Sonographer 1 Additional Requirements

• Certification - Basic Life Support upon start; Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer ARDMS Registered with RDCS Certification or CCI Registered with certification for Vascular or Registry eligible and must obtain within one year; RCS Certification for Echo, or ARDMS with RVT or CCI with the RVS within one year of hire
• Licensure - None required
• Experience - Recent experience in a hospital/healthcare environment as a sonographer or sonographer student.
• Education - Other Sonography Graduate of an accredited school/program of diagnostic medical, setting., sonography or five years specialized training in a hospital/healthcare.
