Job summary

UNC Health is seeking Cardiovascular Sonographers across North Carolina. Positions include Per Diem, Part-time and Full-time with commitment incentives up to $15,000.

Salary ranges from $35.87 to $55.43 per hour, with offers based on experience and internal equity. Opportunities at UNC Medical Center, Rex, Johnston, Rockingham, Chatham, Caldwell, and outpatient clinics statewide.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Sonography, Radiology or related field.
• Completion of a twelve-month ultrasound program.
• ARDMS/CCI registration or registry eligibility with 1-year deadline.
• Continuing education requirements annually.
• Cardiovascular Sonographer I: no prior experience required.
• Cardiovascular Sonographer II: minimum 1 year in acute hospital.

Responsibilities

• Perform ultrasound imaging for cardiovascular care.
• Prepare patients and provide post-procedure care.
• Set up and clean procedure rooms.

Summary:

Employs radiologic sciences technology to perform a variety of patient care, technical, and diagnostic tasks targeted to the care of patients with cardiovascular disease. Major tasks include ultrasound imaging, patient preparation and post procedure care, procedure room set-up and cleaning, and quality monitoring.

Education Requirements:

• Associate’s degree in Sonography, Radiology or a related field, OR
• Completion of a twelve (12) month ultrasound program.

Licensure/Certification Requirements:

• Registered by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS), Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI), or registry eligible and become registered within one (1) year from date of hire. Must maintain registry status and continuing education requirements annually.

Professional Experience Requirements:

• Cardiovascular Sonographer I: No prior experience required.
• Cardiovascular Sonographer II: One year minimum experience in acute hospital setting.
