Job summary

The Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation (OMRF) in Oklahoma City seeks a Research Technician I/II/III for the Ahamed Lab, focusing on mouse models of heart disease and cardiac fibrosis. You will perform molecular, cellular, and biochemical techniques, support mouse colony management, and contribute to experimental design in a collaborative lab environment.

Responsibilities include data analysis, presenting findings to the PI, maintaining compliance and safety, and assisting with lab operations.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a biological science or related field; relevant lab experience preferred.
Ability and willingness to handle laboratory mice, including breeding and procedures.
Strong written and verbal communication for documenting procedures and reporting results.
Proficiency with computers, order processing systems and Microsoft Office.
Analytical skills for computing rates, ratios, percentages, molarity, and unit conversions.

Responsibilities

Perform experiments using molecular, cellular, and biochemical techniques.
Analyze and interpret data; present findings to the Manager or PI.
Support mouse colony management including genotyping and record-keeping.
Assist with lab organization, inventory, and safety compliance.
Administer injections, medications, venipuncture, and assist with diagnostic procedures as directed.
Identify, prepare, and execute experiments per approved protocols.
Take initiative on non-routine tasks and contribute to experimental design.
