Brigham and Women's Hospital is seeking a motivated Research Intern for a cardiovascular lab that uses zebrafish and human cell models to study disease mechanisms. The role focuses on maintaining zebrafish colonies and performing high-throughput screen experiments for potential drug discovery.

The intern will assist in experimental work across in vitro and in vivo assays, with opportunities to learn various molecular techniques and data analysis while contributing to ongoing biomarker discovery

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; currently enrolled in biology/molecular genetics/biochemistry or related degree.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance and genotyping of zebrafish colonies.
• Analysis of zebrafish tissue including Western blotting, immunofluorescence microscopy, DNA purification and quantitative RT-PCR.
• Generation and purification of antibodies for ELISA assays.
• Preparation and maintenance of tissue cultures and laboratory reagents.
• Time-lapse microscopy and automated image processing.
