Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) for the Cardiovascular Surgery Step-Down Unit (CVSU) at St. Mary’s Hospital.

The PRN position supports RN-led patient care, focusing on monitoring vitals, hygiene, and daily living tasks while maintaining compassionate patient interactions. Ideal candidates will have recent acute care experience, BLS certification (or ability to obtain), and a commitment to high-quality, patient-centered care within a faith-based health system.

Responsibilities

• Provides basic patient care under RN guidance, including vital signs and hygiene.

• Documents care accurately in the EHR.
• Assists with patient transfers and activities of daily living.
• Encourages patient independence and supports mobility.
• Maintains individualized care based on patient interests.
