Job summary

Intermountain Healthcare Inc. is seeking an experienced CVOR Surgical Technologist to join the cardiovascular operating room team.

The role supports complex procedures, maintains sterile technique, and collaborates with surgeons, nurses, and the surgical staff to ensure safe, efficient operations. Ideal candidates have recent CVOR experience, including cardiovascular procedure assistance, and can participate in training and mentoring.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Operating Room Technician (ORT) program or graduation from a non-accredited surgical tech program within the past six months.
• Two years of scrub tech experience in hospital/military surgical services within the last three years.
• Competent in Level III or IV Cases in high acuity specialty areas such as robotics, neuro, CV, trauma, transplant, reimplants, plastics craniofacial, major abdominal general surgery.

Responsibilities

• Support system-wide surgical operations and safety plans.
• Ensure sterilization criteria are met and maintain a sterile, safe environment.
• Prepare the operating room and instruments, assist with sterile processing, and support surgeons within the ORT scope of practice.
• Identify and respond to emergency situations, assist with room turnover and cleaning.
• Participate in training and mentoring, providing at least one educational offering per year.
• Scrub high-acuity cases and assist with new hire orientation, or oversee specialty areas as a Specialty Leader.
