Job summary

Permanent Progeny HR Solutions LLC in Salem, VA seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist to join our Cardiovascular Operating Room team. This full-time, permanent role supports surgeons and scrub teams during complex procedures, ensuring sterile technique and instrument readiness.

You will prepare OR, pass instruments, assist with patient positioning, maintain sterile field, document procedures, and collaborate for patient safety.

Qualifications

• Must hold CST certification and be in good standing.
• Minimum 2 years in a cardiovascular operating room.
• Knowledge of surgical instruments and equipment.
• Ability to work under pressure and communicate clearly.

Responsibilities

• Prepare operating room by setting up surgical instruments and equipment
• Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments, sponges, and other supplies
• Monitor and maintain sterile field throughout surgery
• Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and provide necessary supplies and equipment
• Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes
• Prepare and maintain surgical instruments and equipment for sterilization
• Assist with patient positioning and prepping for surgery
• Document and maintain accurate records of surgical procedures
• Adhere to all safety and infection control protocolsContinuously update knowledge and skills through ongoing education and training
