Job summary

The CVOR at Inova Fairfax Medical Campus is hiring an experienced CVOR RN with at least two years of specialized CVOR experience. You will perform comprehensive patient assessments, develop care plans, and advocate for patients and families in a high‑tech cardiac OR.

Qualifications

• Requires a minimum of 2 years of direct CVOR experience as a Registered Nurse.
• BSN or ADN from an accredited school of nursing; if RN has an ADN, must complete BSN within 5 years of start date.
• Licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Performs comprehensive patient health assessments by interpreting data sets and synthesizing their interrelationships.
• Formulates individualized care plans based on assessment findings and trends.
• Supports and empowers patients and families through the healthcare continuum.
• Advocates for patients' rights and acts as a resource to resolve issues.
• Anticipates ethical, spiritual, and cultural needs of patients and families.

The Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) at Inova Fairfax Medical is hiring an experienced CVOR RN! We are seeking a Registered Nurse with at least two years of specialized CVOR experience to join our team. Our program has been recognized by U.S. News & World Report as "High Performing" in heart bypass surgery, aortic valve surgery, and transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR). Sign on Bonus & Relocation bonus is available for eligible candidates.

The department offers full-time & part-time positions with a variety of schedules, including day, mid, and night shifts.

Our CVOR features state-of-the-art technology, including Stryker integrated video and a Philips single-plane Hybrid OR. This dept comprises 7 operating rooms supporting all cardiac surgery services, including thoracic organ transplantation (heart and lung), mechanical circulatory support, structural heart, congenital, and advanced aortic surgery.

CVOR Registered Nurse Responsibilities:

• Performs comprehensive patient health assessments by interpreting multiple, sometimes conflicting, data sets and synthesizing their interrelationships.
• Formulates individualized plans of care based upon assessment findings and interpreting trends in patient populations to achieve best practice.
• Supports and empowers patients and families as they progress through the healthcare continuum from health promotion to end of life decisions.
• Advocates for patients' rights from the patient/family perspective and provides counsel and acts as a resource to resolve issues.
• Anticipates ethical, spiritual, and cultural needs of patients/families and assists staff in assessing patients' learning needs.

CVOR Registered Nurse Qualifications:

• Experience:Requires a minimum of2 yearsof direct Cardiovascular Operating Room (OR) experience as a Registered Nurse
• Education:BSN or ADN from an accredited school of nursing. If RN has an Associate's Degree (ADN); must complete BSN within 5 years of start date
• License:Must be licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse.
• Certification:Basic Life Support with American Heart Association

Preferred Qualifications:

• AORN's Periop 101 curriculum completion
• Scrub experience
• Level 1 trauma experience
