Job summary

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in similar healthcare setting preferred.
• Customer service experience strongly preferred.
• BLS/CPR certification within 60 days of hire; available through American Red Cross or American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Pre-visit planning by reviewing patient records and updating test results.
• Complete pre-charting up to five days before appointment; communicate with care team.
• Prepare patients for examination and escort to exam room; update meds, allergies, history, smoking status.
• Assist with injections or immunizations per state guidelines; maintain exam rooms and supplies.
• Coordinate with providers and care team regarding discharge, ED visits, labs and specialist appointments.
• Participate in department meetings; identify and help resolve process improvements.
• Dispose of biohazardous and regular waste per protocol; manage vaccine logs and inventory.
