Job summary

Northwell Health is seeking a Medical Assistant for our Cardiovascular team in Norwalk, CT. The role involves clinical and clerical support to ensure smooth daily operations, preparing exam rooms, and ensuring patient readiness for visits.

Qualified candidates have 1 year MA experience or MA/EMT certification or 3 years healthcare related to MA; HS diploma or GED required. Schedule is Mon–Fri, 8:30am–5:00pm with daily responsibilities including vitals and rooming. CPR preferred; bilingual a plus.

Qualifications

• Data entry required and high school diploma/GED with MA or secretary experience, or new graduate of MA program, or Nursing Assistant training, or EMT certification, or 3 years of related medical office experience.
• Basic medical knowledge and terminology. Skilled in obtaining accurate patient vital signs.

Responsibilities

• Greet and escort patients from waiting room to clinical area; perform intake, document vital signs, medications, allergies, and verify information.
• Transcribe and update patient information in the EMR; record demographics, med history, social and medical history as reported.
• Provide clerical support; prepare and organize patient charts; complete paperwork such as disability forms and scanning of records.
