Job summary

UnityPoint Health in Cedar Rapids, IA is seeking a Cardiovascular Tech (CVT) to support the Electrophysiology Lab during invasive cardiac procedures. The CVT will collaborate with RNs and physicians, performing as secondary circulator, scrub tech and monitor under physician direction.

Requirements include RCIS/RCES (within 12 months of hire), BLS, and CORE certifications with strong English communication and patient-focused care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited program in invasive cardiovascular technology.
• Current RCIS or RCES certification with CCI in good standing; must be obtained within 12 months of hire.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or obtain within 3 months of hire.
• Hospital CORE certification within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians during invasive cardiac procedures under supervision.
• Serve as secondary circulator, scrub tech and monitor as needed in the Cath Lab.
• Maintain sterile fields and sterile technique and ensure radiation safety practices.
• Provide teaching and referrals to ensure continuity of care for patients and families.
