Position Overview

CornerStone Medical is seeking an experienced Cardiovascular Invasive Technician for a 13-week contract assignment in a busy Cath Lab in Dallas, TX. The Cardiovascular Invasive Technician will provide hands‑on support during cardiovascular invasive procedures by scrubbing into procedures, assisting with equipment, preparing procedure rooms, and supporting the cardiovascular team throughout the patient’s care. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of invasive cardiac and vascular procedures, cardiovascular anatomy and physiology, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced procedural environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Scrub into cardiovascular procedures and assist physicians and the cardiovascular team.
• Assist with diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures, including: Arteriograms, Cardiac catheterizations, Peripheral interventions, Coronary interventions, Permanent pacemaker implantations, Thrombolytic therapy.
• Prepare and maintain sterile fields for Cath Lab procedures.
• Prepare procedure rooms, equipment, and supplies prior to procedures.
• Circulate in procedure rooms and collect required procedural data.
• Assist with radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures as a secondary assignment.
• Monitor patients' ECG, vital signs, and overall condition during procedures.
• Notify physicians of significant changes or abnormalities.
• Provide emergency assistance, including CPR and defibrillation, when necessary.
• Perform pre- and post-procedure patient care.
• Monitor, orient, and reassure patients before and during procedures.
• Transport patients to and from the procedural area.
• Document relevant medical information accurately in the patient's medical record.
• Enter and calculate catheterization data, including gradients, LV grams, cardiac outputs, and peripheral stenosis.
• Follow all applicable state and national radiation protection regulations.
• Maintain adequate inventory of Cath Lab supplies and equipment.
• Order supplies and ensure procedure rooms are properly stocked.
• Inspect equipment and ensure it is safe and ready for use.
• Work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, technologists, and other members of the cardiovascular team.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of cardiovascular invasive/Cath Lab experience
• Current ARRT-RT or RCIS credential
• Current Texas MRT certification
• Current BLS - AHA only
• Current ACLS
• Strong knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy and physiology
• Knowledge of invasive cardiac and vascular procedures, instrumentation, and techniques
• Computer literacy and ability to use basic office equipment
• Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced procedural environment
• High level of precision, flexibility, and attention to detail
