Job summary

The Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (CVIS) at Duke Health will support adult cardiac cath/EP labs, assisting physicians during invasive and noninvasive procedures and ensuring patient safety in the Cath Lab, EP Lab, and Hybrid OR in Durham.

Candidates should have an allied health degree and relevant certifications (RCIS, RCES, ARRT variants) or equivalent, with BLS and ACLS; no experience required. Relocation assistance may apply for qualified applicants.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an associate or baccalaureate program in health science (including cardiovascular technology, ultrasound, radiologic technology or respiratory therapy) or graduate of an associate/baccalaureate program in an unrelated field with a certificate in cardiovascular technology, ultrasound, radiology technology or respiratory therapy.
• No experience required.
• Certification: RCIS, RCES, ARRT variants or IBHRE within 36 months; BLS and ACLS required within specified timelines.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians during invasive and noninvasive cardiovascular procedures and monitor patient status.
• Prepare procedural rooms, equipment, and sterile setup for Cath Lab/EP Lab/Hybrid OR cases.
• Document patient data accurately in EHR and coordinate with healthcare team throughout cases.
