Job summary

Inova Alexandria Hospital is seeking an Interventional Radiology (IR Tech) to join our team on a day shift, Monday–Friday, with four 10-hour shifts. A sign-on bonus and relocation assistance are eligible for this position.

The IR Tech will deliver safe, holistic patient care, perform relevant assessments, and participate in planning routine care options, while ensuring efficiency in care delivery and prioritizing patient needs in a fast-paced interventional environment.

Qualifications

• Certification requirements include BLS and ACLS at start.
• Registries include RCIS, RTR VI, RTR CV or RTR CI at hire; or nursing graduate with RN license.
• 1 year of interventional Cardiac Cath Lab, Electrophysiology Lab, Interventional Radiology Lab or critical care nursing experience required.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing school or cardiovascular/radiology program with relevant credentials.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, holistic patient care with culturally sensitive approaches.
• Perform psychosocial/physiologic assessments integrated in procedure notes.
• Tailor care plans to patient needs, including transitional care planning.
• Ensure efficient care delivery while prioritizing immediate needs and problem solving.

IR Tech Responsibilities:

• Provides safe and therapeutic care in a holistic and caring way while incorporating differences into the provision of care. Integrates knowledge, skill and experiences to meet the patient needs.
• Performs psychosocial/physiologic assessments that integrate changing data as documented in procedure notes.
• Tailors and prioritizes caring practices to individual needs, including cultural/ethical/spiritual needs. Participates in the planning of routine transitional health care needs (e.g. treatment options).
• Ensures efficiency in the delivery of care while determining immediate priorities and offering solutions for problems.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Certification- Basic Life Support Upon Start; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Upon Start; Registered in one of the following: Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS), Radiologic Technologist Vascular Interventional Radiology (RTR VI), Radiologic Technologist Cardiovascular (RTR CV) or Radiologic Technologist Cardiovascular Interventional (RTR CI) required. Unless at least 5 years of Interventional Radiology Tech experience with active RTR registry, OR a graduate of an accredited school of nursing. If a graduate of an accredited Radiology Technology program, must also have their Registered Technologist with American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) upon hire.
• Licensure - Registered Nurse Upon Start If the team member doesn't possess one of the above registries, the team member must be licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse.
• Experience - One year of experience in interventional Cardiac Cath Lab or Electrophysiology Lab or Interventional Radiology Lab performing Cardio Invasive Specialist duties or equivalent years of experience as a nurse working in a critical care hospital unit.
• Education - Associate Degree Nursing Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and /or Graduate of an accredited, school of Cardiovascular Technology or Radiology Technology or equivalent education and experience.
