Job summary

Inova Alexandria Hospital is seeking a Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist 1 to join the Interventional Radiology team. This day shift role consists of four 10‑hour shifts, Monday to Friday, with a sign-on and relocation bonus.

The successful candidate will assist with documentation, monitor EKG and hemodynamic data during procedures, and help prepare and turnover rooms. RN with Virginia licensure and ACLS/BLS are required, with related certifications potentially required within 12 months.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school or Cardiovascular/Radiology technology program.
• ACLS and BLS certifications required within 90 days of hire.
• Virginia RN licensure within 12 months if RCIS/RCES/TRT certifications not obtained within one year.
• Experience with interventional radiology procedures preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist healthcare team with documentation and care planning based on patient trends.
• Serve as a clinical resource and mentor to team members; identify learning needs.
• Enter patient charge information accurately and maintain outcome statistics.
• Delegate patient care activities and participate in staffing and room turnover.
• Calibrate, operate and troubleshoot radiology equipment; monitor EKG and hemodynamic data during procedures.
• May perform additional duties as assigned.

Job Responsibilities

• Assists the healthcare team with the documentation process. Formulates a plan of care based on trends of similar patients.
• Acts as a clinical resource and serves as a mentor to health care team members while displaying leadership behaviors. Identifies own learning needs based on self‑evaluation and the progress made from the previous year's goals.
• Consistently enters patient charge information accurately and maintains statistical data for the outcome report to include ACC and Hi‑IQ data bases.
• Appropriately delegates patient care activities to other health care team members and participates in making and revising staff assignments. Takes initiative to participate in efficient and timely room turnover.
• Calibrates, operates and troubleshoots a wide variety of equipment and instruments. Selects appropriate instruments and supplies based on patient presentation during procedure. Monitors the EKG, hemodynamic pressure and other physiologic data during the procedure.
• May perform additional duties as assigned.

Additional Requirements

• Certification – Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support and Basic Life Support obtained within 90 days of hire; registered in one of the following or must obtain within one year of hire: RCIS, RCES, RTRVI, RTRCV, RTRCI, unless a graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Licensure – Registered Nurse within 12 months RN licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia is required only if the certification requirement for RCIS, RCES, RTRVI, RTRCV, or RTRCI cannot be obtained within one year. If a graduate of an accredited Radiology Technology program, must also obtain their Registered Technologist with American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) within 30 days of hire.
• Education – Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, or a graduate of an accredited School of Cardiovascular Technology or Radiology Technology or equivalent education and experience.
