Job summary

The University of Virginia Health System is seeking an experienced RN for the Thoracic Cardiovascular ICU in Charlottesville. You will care for adults after complex cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgery, working with a multidisciplinary team to deliver evidence-based, high-acuity care.

In a fast-paced unit, you’ll monitor patients, adjust plans, participate in ECMO and advanced therapies as needed, and mentor less experienced staff.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• BSN required within 5 years of hire.
• Licensed RN in Virginia with BLS.
• 1 year of relevant ICU experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive critical care for cardiovascular ICU patients.
• Collaborate with surgeons, intensivists, APPs, pharmacists, therapists.
• Monitor patient status and respond to rapid changes with evidence-based care.
• Support early mobility, family communication, and care coordination.
