Job summary

The University of Texas Dell Medical School seeks a Cardiovascular ICU Nocturnal Advanced Practice Provider to join the team on a full-time basis at UT Main Campus. The selected APP/PA will staff the cardiovascular ICU and cross-cover the telemetry ward, delivering expert, patient-focused care in collaboration with physicians and a multidisciplinary team.

Experience in cardiac critical care is preferred; licensure in Texas as a PA or APRN with prescriptive authority is required.

Responsibilities

This individual will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to serve the growing need of the regional adult population to deliver world class adult cardiovascular and thoracic surgical care.## PurposeIn collaboration with supervising physicians, provides for the expansion of individualized healthcare services by diagnosing and treating adult cardiovascular and thoracic conditions. The Advanced Practice Professional (APP) will primarily staff the ICU but will also cross cover the telemetry ward providing patient-centered, competent, compassionate, and professional care in both out-patient and in-patient settings.## Responsibilities* Operating Room based Physician Assistants will primarily work assisting in the cardiovascular operating room. Obtains patient history and performs assessment via observation, interview and examination. Orders, performs and interprets diagnostic studies. Performs health assessments, screening, and patient care.* Provides direct treatment and management of conditions via prescriptive authority or referral to other healthcare providers or community resources.
