Job summary

Baptist Health Floyd in New Albany, IN seeks a Charge Nurse for the Cardiovascular ICU on a part-time night shift. This entry-level leadership role coordinates care on designated shifts and provides direct patient care while guiding a small team.

The CVU handles open-heart surgery patients and other critical cardiac cases; the nurse will oversee staffing, respond to concerns, and ensure smooth patient flow while mentoring staff.

Qualifications

• Current Indiana or compact state RN license.
• BLS for Healthcare Provider required.
• ACLS certification (to be obtained within 12 months of hire).
• NIH Stroke Scale Certification required within 10 weeks of hire.
• One year of nursing experience; one year in area of specialty preferred.
• Professional/Specialty certification required per unit standards.

Responsibilities

• Act as a resource nurse and coordinate care on designated shifts.
• Provide leadership to unit staff and oversee patient care.
• Assess staffing needs and adjust staffing on shifts.
• Respond to departmental concerns and coordinate patient flow.
• Oversee employees while performing similar work to those led.
