Job summary

The Dell Medical School, in conjunction with Ascension Texas, seeks Advanced Practice Nurses or Physician Assistants for the Institute for Cardiovascular Health. You will work with a multidisciplinary team to deliver world-class adult cardiovascular and thoracic surgical care.

In collaboration with supervising physicians, you will diagnose and treat adult cardiovascular and thoracic conditions, splitting clinical time between the telemetry floor and the clinic to provide patient-centered,

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited training program and board certified by the respective accreditation body
• Physician Assistant with board certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) and licensed through the Texas Medical Board
• Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner with Prescriptive Authority and board certification through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board (AANPCB) or American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) and licensed through the Texas Board of Nursing
• Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate

Responsibilities

• Obtains patient history and performs assessment via observation, interview and examination. Orders, performs and interprets diagnostic studies. Performs health assessments, screening, and patient care.
• Provides direct treatment and management of conditions via prescriptive authority or referral to other healthcare providers or community resources.
• Documents delivery of health care and nursing processes in accordance with specific specialty area standards and network nursing policy.
• Participates in orientation and education of staff and students.
• Other related functions as assigned
