Job summary

The University of Kansas Health System in Kansas City is hiring a Cardiovascular Ultrasound Manager to oversee day-to-day operations of the CV Ultrasound Imaging department at Bell Hospital. You will supervise staff, ensure coverage across clinic sites, and assist with program leadership and evaluations.

The role requires a Bachelor's with 5+ years of sonography experience, leadership ability, and licensure in cardiac/vascular ultrasound; a Master's in echocardiography is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree and 5+ years experience as a sonographer.
• Leadership characteristics demonstrated by prior roles.
• Master's Degree in diagnostic medical sonography with echocardiography specialization preferred; 2+ years supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, schedule, and assign duties and responsibilities.
• Assure coverage for cardiac and peripheral sonography needs at all clinic sites.
• Assist in processing absence requests with Ultrasound Program Director.
• Submit bi-weekly employee time through Kronos system.
• Assist in annual employee evaluations with the Ultrasound Program Director.
• Enforce department and hospital policies and guidelines; provide disciplinary actions as needed.
• Coordinate clinical training of fellows and sonography students; liaise with the advanced cardiovascular technology program.
• Oversee actions to resolve poor outcomes from SHP evaluation tools.
• Participate in maintaining department equipment and arranging major repairs when needed.
• Coordinate supply stock for uninterrupted echo department operations.
• Develop and implement new procedures; expand services at main campus and other sites.
• Participate in staffing needs evaluation and strategic planning for the CV Ultrasound Department.
• Develop and maintain policies and protocols to meet department and hospital objectives per ICAEL/ICAVL standards.
• Support 24x7 echo services and after-hours on-call rotation; participate in quality control and CME activities.
