Job summary

Akron Children's Hospital seeks a Cardiovascular Technician (CVT) to support clinic visits and inpatient testing. You will gather histories, record vitals, perform cardiac tests (EKG, Holter, CPET), and assist across Heart Center locations. Onsite, full-time, 80 hours bi-weekly.

The role requires an Associate's degree, BLS certification, and familiarity with EPIC EMR. You will ensure safety, maintain equipment, educate families, and contribute to quality improvement and inventory processes.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in health care or related field.
• BLS certification required; EKG tech cert preferred and required after 1 year.
• 1 year of relevant healthcare experience preferred.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Experience with EPIC or similar EMR systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform and document vital signs, histories, and cardiac tests.
• Prepare, scan, and maintain holter/event monitor kits.
• Clean and restock EKG and exam rooms.
• Educate patients and families on testing procedures.
• Perform inpatient testing as needed.
• Operate and troubleshoot cardiac testing equipment.
• Submit test reports for physician interpretation.
• Maintain safety and infection control standards.
• Provide administrative support and assist with inventory.
• Other duties as assigned.
