Qualifications

• Must have CMA certification and BLS.

Responsibilities

• Under the direction of the health care provider, deliver patient care that promotes safety and well-being.
• Perform preliminary physical tests: blood pressure, weight, temperature, pulse, respiration as directed.
• Greet and prepare patients for the health care provider.
• Record vital signs and patient information in the medical record.
• Administer medications and vaccines as ordered via various routes.
• Draw blood samples and prepare specimens for lab analysis; perform routine tests like EKGs.
• Schedule diagnostic testing and follow-up to ensure completion.
• Document care plans and test results in medical records.
• Communicate test results and plan of care to patients by phone or mail.
• Prepare, clean and sterilize instruments; maintain equipment and dispose of contaminated items.
• Keep exam rooms stocked and orderly; escalate non-routine issues as needed.
• Adhere to safety checklists and quality controls; protect patient privacy.
• May work in front office and perform additional duties as assigned.
