Job summary
RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Cardiovascular Invasive Technician Trainee RCIS to support diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures under licensed supervision. This entry-level role is designed for candidates training for cardiovascular technology licensure or certification, with on-site work in the Cardiac Catheter Lab at Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, NJ.
The position includes supervision requirements until licensure/certification is achieved, a typical day
Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- Graduates of an accredited cardiovascular technology program within 6 months
- License or certification pending (must obtain within 6 months of hire)
- BLS and ACLS certification within 90 days of hire
Responsibilities
- Support physicians and licensed staff during cardiac catheterizations
- Prepare patients for procedures, including positioning and skin preparation
- Maintain sterile field and adhere to infection control protocols
- Monitor and document patient vital signs under supervision
- Prepare and operate Cath lab equipment under guidance (hemodynamics, contrast, injectors)
- Assist with post-procedure care and room turnover
- Follow hospital safety policies, radiation safety guidelines and regulatory standards
