Job summary

UC Davis Health is seeking a Senior Physician Assistant to lead perioperative care for cardiothoracic patients and assist in complex surgeries. You will guide inpatients, attend outpatient clinics, and mentor team members while engaging in CQI and education initiatives.

The role requires CA PA licensure, NCCPA certification, ACLS/PALS, and extensive cardiac surgery experience including vein harvesting. On-site duties include day shift with on-call coverage.

Qualifications

• CA licensed PA in California.
• Graduation from an accredited PA program and NCCPA certification.
• ACLS, PALS and BLS certifications.
• Experience as first assist in cardiac surgery with vein harvesting.

Responsibilities

• Act as first, second, or third assistant in cardiac/thoracic surgeries.
• Perform endoscopic vein harvesting, drains, catheters, and postoperative orders.
• Guide and mentor physicians, PAs, house staff, and nursing staff.
• Contribute to CQI, research, education, and data tracking.
• Attend inpatient and outpatient clinics; participate in on-call coverage.
