Job summary

Lehigh Valley Health Network is seeking a per diem cardiothoracic care provider to work with the attending surgeon and the care team in a busy hospital setting. You will perform initial evaluations and assist with inpatient management of cardiothoracic patients.

You will place invasive monitoring lines, participate in education and quality projects, and contribute to clinical databases while supporting patient and family education during the inpatient course. A strong team mindset is valued.

Qualifications

• Must be Board Certified in acute care.
• Valid Pennsylvania Medical License or ability to obtain one.
• Experience as an APC, managing an ICU or OHU environment.

Responsibilities

• Work in conjunction with the attending cardiothoracic surgeon, and non-surgical providers, for medical care of cardiothoracic surgical patients.
• Perform initial evaluation, history, and physical examination of all assigned patients.
• Placement of invasive monitoring lines including central venous catheters, dialysis lines, and arterial access.
• Participate in ongoing education, quality, and research projects.
• Contribute to service-related databases as indicated.
• Participate in education of patients and families during their inpatient course.
• Support the mission and goals of Lehigh Valley Health Network.
