Job summary

Lehigh Valley Health Network invites an experienced APC to join the Heart and Vascular Institute in a per diem Cardiothoracic ICU care role. The position involves collaboration with the surgical team and non-surgical providers to deliver high-quality patient care.

The role requires board certification in acute care and an active Pennsylvania medical license or eligibility. Prior ICU/OHU management experience is preferred to ensure safety and excellence in patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Must be Board Certified in acute care.
• Valid Pennsylvania Medical License or ability to obtain one.
• Experience as an APC managing an ICU or OHU environment.

Responsibilities

• Work with the attending cardiothoracic surgeon and non-surgical providers for medical care of cardiothoracic surgical patients.
• Perform initial evaluation, history, and physical examination of all assigned patients.
• Placement of invasive monitoring lines including central venous catheters, dialysis lines, and arterial access.
• Participate in ongoing education, quality, and research projects.
• Contribute to service-related databases as indicated.
• Participate in education of patients and families during inpatient course.
• Support the mission and goals of Lehigh Valley Health Network.

This per diem position will be responsible for the care and management of cardiothoracic surgical patients in the ICU, such as:

• Work in conjunction with the attending cardiothoracic surgeon, and non-surgical providers, for medical care of cardiothoracic surgical patients.
