Job summary

HCA Florida North Florida Hospital in Gainesville, FL seeks an experienced Cardiac Physician Assistant to join an established cardiothoracic surgery practice. You will provide perioperative care, assist in cardiac and thoracic procedures, and participate in rounding on patients in the hospital with emphasis on patient safety and quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Support experienced cardiothoracic surgeons in an employed practice.
• Rounding on patients in the hospital.
• First assisting in cardiac and thoracic surgery procedures.
• Some ICU work may be required.
• Some OR experience preferred.
• Experience with cardiothoracic patients preferred; EVH/vein harvesting ideal but teachable.

Responsibilities

• Rounding on hospital patients to monitor status and progress.
• Assist surgeons in cardiac and thoracic operations as needed.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure perioperative care.
• Provide perioperative support and patient education as appropriate.
