Job summary

Providence Medical Group - Northwest Washington is seeking a Surgical physician assistant to join an adult cardiothoracic surgery team. You will rotate through the operating room, inpatient service, postoperative clinic, and call, supporting patients along the cardiac surgical continuum.

In the OR, you will serve as first assistant on CABG, valve, mitral, TAVR, aortic, and other cases; preop evaluations, rounds, and discharge coordination are also included.

Qualifications

• At least one year of relevant clinical experience; two or more preferred.
• Graduate of an accredited PA program with PA‑C certification.
• Eligibility for Washington PA licensure.
• Cardiothoracic surgery, cardiac surgery, surgical first‑assist, cardiology, or critical care experience preferred.
• EVH, surgical assisting, postoperative cardiac surgery care, chest‑tube management, pacing‑wire removal, and wound care experience preferred.
• Epic proficiency or the ability to develop proficiency through onboarding.

Responsibilities

• Serve as first assistant in CABG, valve, mitral, minimally invasive valve, TAVR, aortic and other cardiothoracic cases.
• Provide preoperative evaluations and surgical consults; participate in daily multidisciplinary rounds.
• Postoperative management and discharge coordination; transitions of care.
• Chest‑tube management and removal; pacing‑wire removal; wound care as needed.
• In clinic, provide postoperative follow‑up and care coordination.
