Job summary

Qualifications

• At least one year of relevant clinical experience; two or more preferred.
• Graduate of an accredited PA program with PA‑C certification.
• Eligibility for Washington PA licensure and required hospital privileges.
• Cardiothoracic surgery, cardiac surgery, surgical first‑assist, cardiology, or critical care experience preferred.
• EVH, surgical assisting, postoperative cardiac surgery care, chest‑tube management, pacing‑wire removal, and wound‑care experience preferred.
• Epic proficiency or ability to develop proficiency through onboarding.

Responsibilities

• Serve as first assistant in CABG, valve, mitral, minimally invasive valve, TAVR, aortic, and other cardiothoracic cases.
• Support preoperative evaluations and surgical consults; participate in daily rounds and postoperative management.
• Manage chest tubes and pacing wires; coordinate discharge and transitions of care.
• Provide postoperative follow‑up and wound care in clinic; assist with care coordination for recovery.
