Job summary

BAS HealthCare seeks a Nurse Practitioner - Surgery specialized in Cardiothoracic to provide post-operative care and support for complex cardiac and vascular cases in Springfield, Ohio. The role includes rounding, ordering tests, and coordinating patient care in a high-demand environment.

The candidate must hold an active Ohio license, board certification in Cardiothoracic or Vascular Surgery, and ACLS/DEA.

Qualifications

Active Ohio license is required.
Board certification in Cardiothoracic or Vascular Surgery is required.
Minimum 5 years of experience in Cardiothoracic and vascular surgery services.
ACLS and DEA certifications must be active.
Background must be clean with no malpractice or license issues.
Credentialing may take 90–120 days; temporary privileges possible with clean file.

Responsibilities

Provide post-operative care for all cardiothoracic and vascular patients.
Perform emergency surgery support for cardiothoracic and vascular patients.
Take consults and referrals from the ED, Cath Lab, and hospital providers.
Perform vein harvesting and retrieval of vascular tissues for bypass conduits during heart surgery.
Assist in surgical procedures.
Write prescriptions and coordinate patient care.
Rounding on inpatient adult and geriatric patients (≈20–26/day).
Interpret and order tests as required.
Schedule: M-F 8am–5pm with floor call/beeper 3pm–7am; Sat/Sun 24h onsite call.
