Job summary

SAMGI in Rapid City, SD is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to lead the cardiothoracic service overnight. You will manage post‑op cardiac and thoracic patients on the ward and ICU, with the surgeon and intensivist available by phone or in person when needed, delivering safe, autonomous care on a nightly schedule.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited NP or PA program.
• Current or eligible SD NP or PA license.
• National NP or NCCPA certification (PA).
• ICU or cardiac experience required.
• BLS and ACLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Run the cardiothoracic service overnight across ward and ICU.
• Assess, monitor, and manage post‑op cardiac and thoracic patients.
• Respond to changes in status, order diagnostics, adjust plans.
• Collaborate with the surgeon and intensivist by phone, in person as needed.
• Deliver thorough hand-offs to the day team each morning.
