Job summary

Atrium Health's Sanger Heart & Vascular Institute in Concord, NC seeks a Part-time Adult Cardiothoracic Surgery Advanced Practice Provider to join a busy inpatient team. The role focuses on cardiac and thoracic patients with rotating four 10-hour shifts, and no OR responsibilities or on-call duties.

Ideal candidates are licensed NC NP/PA graduates with prescriptive privileges and DEA, plus BLS/ACLS. PA candidates should have NCCPA; NP candidates should have Acute Care NP certification.

Qualifications

• Graduated from an accredited NP or PA program and licensed in NC.
• Current prescriptive privileges and DEA license required.
• BLS and ACLS certified.
• Physician Assistants: NCCPA certification required.
• Nurse Practitioners: Acute Care NP Certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provide care to cardiac and thoracic surgery patients in inpatient settings.
• Work on a rotating four, 10-hour shift schedule with weekend coverage.
• No OR responsibilities and no on-call duties; travel may be required to other sites.

Atrium Health Sanger Heart & Vascular Institute –Concord, is currently seeking a Part-time Adult Cardiothoracic Surgery Advanced Practice Provider to join their established practice in Concord, NC. You'll be joining a great team atmosphere with opportunities for autonomy. Our surgeons are readily available and easy to work with. Our busy practice provides plenty of opportunities for continued growth while remaining centrally location.

Practice Highlights:

• The practice has 12 cardiac and thoracic surgeons across SHVI and 28 surgical APPs at three sites
• Busy practice averaging 1500 cases a year between cardiac and thoracic services
• The practice performs both inpatient and outpatient procedures and utilizes a closed ICU
• No OR responsibilities. No call. Travel may be required to other sites.
• Position consists of providing care to both cardiac and thoracic surgery patients.
• Work in the inpatient setting on a rotating four, 10-hour shift schedule with rotating weekend coverage. Anticipated to work 1 weekend every 3-4 weeks.

Ideal candidates:

• Graduated from an accredited NP or PA program AND maintain a current license to practice as an NP or PA in North Carolina. Current prescriptive privileges and DEA license required. BLS/ACLS Certified.
• Physician Assistants: certification from the NCCPA required.
• Nurse Practitioners: Acute Care NP Certification required.
• Experience performing some procedures, including bedside talc pleurodesis, autologous blood patch, TPA instillation, chest tube removal, pericardial drain removal, and wound vac placements.
