Job summary

Atrium Health Sanger Heart & Vascular Institute in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Full-Time Adult CT/Vascular Surgery Advanced Practice Provider to join a busy, collaborative team. You will assess, diagnose, and manage patients with cardiothoracic and vascular conditions under physician supervision.

Geared for experienced APPs who value autonomy within a supportive environment. The role includes nights with a 7-on/7-off schedule, weekend/holiday coverage, and opportunities for professional growth in

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited NP or PA program with NC license.
• Current prescriptive privileges and DEA license required.
• BLS and ACLS certification required.
• NCCPA certification for PAs or Acute Care NP Certification for NPs.
• Cardiology/CT/vascular surgery experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, treat, educate, refer, and consult with supervising physician.
• Maintain competency for age groups served and participate in patient care coordination.
• Work independently with strong decision-making and communicate effectively with MDs, APPs, and staff.
• Shifts: Nocturnist 12-hour shifts; 7-on/7-off with 14-off in a rotating cycle.
• Work weekends and holidays; no routine call; occasional travel to other sites.
• No OR responsibilities, but exposure to OR settings possible.
• Perform procedures such as thoracentesis/pleural procedures, chest tube management, and drainage care.

Atrium Health Sanger Heart & Vascular Institute – Charlotte, is currently seeking a Full-Time Adult CT/Vascular Surgery Advanced Practice Provider to join their established practice in Charlotte, NC. You'll be joining a great team atmosphere with opportunities for autonomy. Our surgeons are readily available and easy to work with. Our busy practice provides plenty of opportunities for continued growth while remaining centrally location.

Practice Highlights:

• The practice has 12 cardiac and thoracic surgeons across SHVI and 28 surgical APPs at three sites
• Busy practice averaging 1500 cases a year between cardiac and thoracic services
• The practice is structured with inpatient, outpatient and surgical teams and utilizes a closed CTICU

Job Summary

• Provides assessment, diagnosis, treatment, education, referral, and consultation in collaboration with a supervising physician.
• Maintains clinical and professional competency as appropriate to the age, developmental stages, and special needs of the patients served.
• Candidate must be able to work independently and efficiently with strong decision-making skills. Strong communication skills a must.Will be working with a variety of MDs, APPs and ancillary staff for inpatient managementand coordination of patient care.
• Shifts: Nocturnist - 12hr shifts. rotating schedule 7on-7off with 14-off every 3rdcycle.
• Multiple providers to allow for flexibility to schedule
• Weekends, Holidays required. No Call. Travel to other sites may rarely be required.
• No OR responsibilities, but exposure to OR setting possible
• Procedures, including bedside talc pleurodesis, autologous blood patch, TPA instillation, chest tube removal, pericardial drain removal, and wound vac placements.

Ideal candidates:

• Graduated from an accredited NP or PA program AND maintain a current license to practice as an NP or PA in North Carolina. Current prescriptive privileges and DEA license required. BLS/ACLS Certified.
• Physician Assistants: certification from the NCCPA required
• Nurse Practitioners: Acute Care NP Certification required
• Experience in cardiology, cardiothoracicor vascular surgery preferred
