The Society of Thoracic Surgeons is seeking a Cardiothoracic Surgeon at the University of Florida in Jacksonville. This full-time position offers an academic appointment, focusing on patient care, teaching, and advanced surgical procedures.

The Department of Surgery and the Heart and Vascular Center at the University of Florida College of Medicine – Jacksonville (UF COM-J) is seeking a Cardiothoracic Surgeon. The successful candidate will receive an appointment at the tenure or non-tenure accruing level of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor, depending on background and experience. This is a full-time 1.0 FTE clinical faculty position with teaching and research expectations commensurate with an academic appointment.
Major responsibilities include patient care, teaching, and research. Candidates will perform advanced/complex adult cardiac and thoracic surgery, including coronary artery bypass, valve surgery (open and minimally invasive), arrhythmia surgery, thoracic aortic surgery, thoracoscopic and robotic lung resection, mediastinal surgery, TAVR, TEVAR, and minimally invasive aortic and mitral valve procedures. The candidate will participate in on‑call scheduling, clinical research, and educational activities as required by an academic appointment.
The position reports academically to the Chair of the Department of Surgery and operationally to the CT Surgery Director of the Heart and Vascular Center. The candidate will be expected to work at multiple UF Health practice locations throughout Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia, including UF Health Jacksonville, UF Health St. Johns, and UF Health North.
